Under the Sindh Motor Vehicle Taxation Act, 1958 and Motor Vehicles Tax, 1959, it is obligatory for an individual driving any kind of vehicle on the roads of Sindh.

However, many people don’t pay their vehicle tax, due to the hassle it has become. The process itself isn’t as long as the line outside the excise office. To solve this problem, the Excise and Taxation Department of Sindh has introduced an online system that allows the owner to pay online vehicle tax in Sindh.

How to Calculate Vehicle Tax in Sindh?

In order to pay your online vehicle tax in Sindh, you first need to calculate the amount of tax payable. For that you need to follow the below-mentioned steps:

• Visit the official website of the Excise and Taxation Department, Sindh 
• The dashboard allows you to see all the online services the taxation department of Sindh offers its residents, such as vehicle tax payment and property tax 
• Select ‘Quick Online Tax  Payment’
• You will be redirected to a page, where you will be required to enter  some necessary information, such as you’re the mobile number your vehicle is registered to and the registration number of your vehicle
• Enter the ‘CAPTCHA’ code
• Click on ‘Vehicle Details’ 
• You will be taken to a page that details all the information related to your vehicle
• Select the period you wish to pay the tax for

You will be able to see the tax payable for your vehicle.

How to Generate PSID?

Now that you have checked car tax in Sindh you need to pay, you will require a PSID code. 

PSID stands for Public Safety Identification, it is a unique code, consisting of 12 digits. It is generated against the vehicle you wish to pay the tax of. The code usually expires after 24 hours of being generated. 

Follow the below-mentioned steps to generate your PSID code:

• On the very same page that calculate your tax amount, you will see a button that reads ‘Generate PSID’
• Click on the button and note down the PSID code generated

How to Pay Online Vehicle Tax in Sindh?

To bring convenience to the users, the Excise and Taxation Department of Sindh has introduced four ways to pay online vehicle tax in Sindh

• ATM
• Internet Banking
• Visiting a bank 
• Mobile Application

ATM

To pay your motor vehicle tax online in Sindh through an ATM, all you need to do is:

• Visit the nearest ATM that has 1Link facility
• Enter your ATM pin
• Choose ‘Bill Payment’ and then click on ‘Tax Payment’
• Select ‘Excise and Taxation’ from the list
• Enter the PSID code for verification and press ‘OK’
• The amount of tax you have to pay will appear on your screen
• Pay the tax amount through your ATM card

Internet Banking

If your bank offers you the facility of internet banking, then you can easily pay car tax online in Sindh, just follow the below-mentioned steps: 

• Log in to your online banking portal through your PC  or the mobile app
• Choose the option of ‘Bill Payment’ and then click on ‘Tax Payment’
• Select  ‘Excise and Taxation’ from the list
• Enter your PSID code for verification
• The tax amount payable will be shown to you on your screen
• Pay the amount  
• Once the process is complete, a notification will appear on your screen, regarding the status of the payment

Visiting a Bank

To pay Excise tax online in Sindh, you can also visit the nearest branch of your bank that has a 1Link facility. To pay your vehicle tax through internet banking, follow the below-mentioned steps:

• Take a printout of the PSID code and show it to the cashier
• Pay cash  or deposit a cheque amount payable 

Easypaisa

To make your motor vehicle tax payment Sindh, through Easypaisa all you need to do is:

• Login to your Easypaisa account
• Select ‘Government Fees’
• Click on ‘Sindh Vehicle Token Tax’
• Enter the due amount
• Click on pay

Note: Make sure that your Easypaisa account has enough balance to pay the tax amount.
