Lahore: The authorities have recently established an anti-land grabbing cell to address land grabbing cases in the city. Capital City Police Officer(CCPO) Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has expressed his views on this matter, according to a news report on 19th of January.

The official stated that an ‘Anti-Qabza Mafia Cell’ is going to be set up on the advice of a committee. It has been recently approved by the Punjab Government, police representatives, LDA, Overseas Pakistanis Commission, and co-operative departments.
He asked those who are affected by these land grabbers and advised them to reach out to the authorities for help and dial 1242 for helpline. He also informed that the cell facility will be provided immediately to the citizens. He further said that the police have done their job of grabbing 300 individuals on land grab charges.
CCPO explained that the committee would decide cases of illegal occupation within 72 hours. He further stated that the authorities will seize the weapons and assets belonging to the alleged land grabbers.
