Karachi: According to the South District Municipal Corporation (DMC) Administrator Irshad Ali and Deputy Commissioner, the famous food street of Burns Road in Karachi will officially be launched as a traffic-free food street before the end of this week.

It is no secret that the City of Lights is heaven for all street food lovers, most of which is found in this old food street situated in Saddar Town.
From January and onwards, the food street will be designated for pedestrians while the facility of valet parking will be made available for the visitors.
Starting from 7 pm each night, the roads will be traffic-free from Fresco Chowk to Fatima Jinnah Women’s College. The streets of Shahrah-e-Liaquat and nearby areas might witness more than usual traffic after the opening hours of food street, as reported by DMC South.

Residents of the neighbourhood will be provided with stickers as a proof for parking. On the other hand, emergency exits are also planned for unforeseen situations.
Keeping in mind the need for cleanliness and hygiene, all services will be provided in exemplary methods.
