“Pakistan will establish its first ever space museum in Islamabad within 6 months”, announced Mr. Fawad Choudhary, the Federal Minister for Science & Technology.
In a meeting held between Fawad Chaudhary and the Scientific Committee of National Astronomical Observation of Pakistan, plans were made to make the first ever astronomical observatories of Pakistan in both Islamabad and Gwadar.
The purpose of an observatory is to study the sky and the celestial objects, better and clearly. Celestial objects include other planets, moons, and stars.
The observatory in Islamabad will be built near Shakarparian, and the one in Gwadar will be located in the hammerhead coast. The location is selected due to the surrounding open area that will allow the observatory to notice the sky clearly.
The astronomical observatory of Pakistan will not only inspire the youth to indulge in Science and Technology, it would also allow the country to acquire real time data and information. If the feat is executed right, the country can reach the same level as international standards.
