The stadium is speculated to play an integral role in hosting international cricket tours in Pakistan, further solidifying the ground for international cricket in the country. Inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan in November of 2020, the Gwadar Cricket Stadium is one of the 34 sports related projects in the province. 

The stadium has reawakened the love for cricket that every Pakistani has hidden somewhere in their hearts. Similar to Faisal Iqbal, the head coach of Balochistan, many have been filled with the urge to look for fresh talent to play on the ground.

In a meeting recently chaired by Chief Minister Jam Jamal Khan, some crucial decisions regarding the upgradation of Gwadar Stadium were made. The official aims to transform Gwadar Cricket Stadium into a cricket ground where they can host international tournaments.

In collaboration with Pakistan Cricket Board, the upcoming updates include:

  • Digital Scoreboard
  • Media Box
  • VIP Box
  • Enclosures to increase current capacity
  • International standard floodlights
  • State-of-the-art playing pitch

If you are charmed by the beauty of Gwadar Cricket Stadium, then you’re in for a big surprise. Following the inauguration of the stadium, Gwadar Development Authority revealed that a football stadium will also be constructed adjacent to the stadium.
