Seven sites in Gwadar have been recognised to promote tourism in Balochistan.
Quetta: In a meeting held at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Balochistan authorities informed the committee regarding the development of Gwadar.
The meeting was presided over by Jam Kamal Khan Alyani the Chief Minister of Balochistan while Mr. Abdul Khaliq Hazara, the Advisor to the Chief Minister on tourism and culture was in attendance.
As per the plan, several petrol pumps are to be established along the coastal highway of Gwadar. Seven sites have been identified, to be developed into tourist resorts. Out of these seven sites, tenders for two of them have been awarded, while the rest of them will receive the tenders in the next few months.
These sites along with the Gwadar Cricket Stadium will add to the beauty of the city, aiding the Master Plan of Gwadar in making the city a tourist and investment hub.
During the process, the Chinese government will be asked to endorse the industry in Gwadar, in order to promote foreign investment. According to this, the Gwadar Port Master Plan will be re-established and land acquisition would take place as per priority.
The agenda of policy and procedure implementation was also brought up during the meeting, due to which efficiency of transshipment and transit would increase. Rules pertaining to the transshipment and transit rules would be highlighted, in order to promote trade with China and Central Asian Republics (CARs).
The Government of Pakistan will work out the route from China to Uzbekistan, as well as Afghanistan to Uzbekistan in order to initiate trade with the countries of Central Asian Republic, as Uzbekistan shares a border with all the CARs countries.
As per the One Window Act, all the customs and related clearing and processing would pass through the window system to move the cargo from port premises efficiently.
