Rawalpindi: According to news sources, the Punjab government has lately delegated the Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Project (PICIP) the task to create the master plan for some of the major cities in Pakistan such as Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sargodha, and Multan.
The development plan was devised keeping in mind that the selected cities will have a need for infrastructural growth in the next 20 years. The Rawalpindi Development Authority had already selected the consultant for the Punjab Govt Master Plan. However, in recent changes it has been assigned to the PICIP.
In light of the information already made available, it has been established that PICIP is funded largely by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The bank had previously approved funds almost worth USD 200 in the year 2017 in order to begin working on the developments in the Sialkot and Sahiwal areas.
The PICIP will reach out to the government to obtain proposed projects based on population growth and to put the master plan in action for the upcoming years. The PICIP will then be sharing their input on the plans while implementation plans will be based on their recommendations. Keep visiting JagahOnline Blog and JagahOnline Facebook for more information.
