The railway station came into existence during the British era in the subcontinent. As mentioned in the beginning of the blog, the train station has recently been revived on the orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The initiative took place to upgrade the current situation of mass transit, especially the railway system in Pakistan.
Initially established in 1839, the recently renovated railway station is mostly used by Sikh pilgrims from India and from all over Pakistan for the famous Baisakhi Festival in April. The railway station has been upgraded after 127 years and will be offering a wider array of facilities to the Sikh pilgrims.

Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the railway station and started his speech with birthday wishes for Minister of Railways of Pakistan Sheikh Rasheed. The premier said, “Railways are an integral part of Naya Pakistan since it is the only source of intercity travel for the working class of Pakistan”.
Commenting on the current situation, he said that the railway lines in Pakistan are historic and not much attention has been paid to this mode of transportation in recent years. The government plans to develop the Main Line-1 (ML-1) project in collaboration with China. The Main Line-1 Project is said to be revolutionary for the country’s railway system and its progress. “The travel time from Karachi to Lahore will reduce to 7 hours once the project is completed”, announced the PM Khan in the same speech.
He further added, “We have plans to develop underpasses and overpasses giving birth to modern railway stations and bringing ‘ease of business’ in Pakistan”.
Moving forward, the project will not only enhance the country’s infrastructure but also create employment opportunities leading to a significant increase in economic development.

The Hasan Abdal Railway Station is located in Hasan Abdal Town. It is a small town in Attock district of Punjab province. It is highly connected to Qaumi Shahrah 35 and easily accessible via Bafahad Road.
