Kallar Kahar Lake
Surrounded by Kallar Kahar Mountains, Kallar Kahar Lake is around 8 km in area and approximately 5 feet in depth. The lake is visited by water-sports enthusiasts and activities such as pedal boating, motor boating, and fishing are some of the most popular ones.
Furthermore, Bagh-e-Safa – the first Mughal garden built in the sub-continent – is situated near the shorelines of the lake.

Kallar Kahar Museum
The Kallar Kahar Museum is home to fossils of different animals. 50 million year old dinosaurs, elephants, lions, and etc. The museum was established in 2008 by the Punjab Archeology Department.

Molat Fort
Sitting at a distance of 12 km from Kallar Kahar, Molat Fort is situated on top of a hill in the Molat Village. It is made of beautiful bright red sandstones, constructed by the emperor Raja Mal dev Khan.
The red sandstones make the place really stand out, especially during sunrise.
Takht-i-Babri
Behind the Kallar Kahar Museum, sitting on an elevated ground is a single stone, the throne was carved for the first Mughal Emperor Babur by his army.
Babur, on his way back from Kabul, wished to seize the area of Koh-e-Jood. In order to motivate his army for the upcoming battle, the Mughal emperor wished to be seated at an elevated spot, so he could address his army. Hence, Takht-i-Babri came into existence.
Where is Kallar Kahar Located
Surrounded by the most stunning mountains, Kallar Kahar is situated 25 km east of Chakwal.
The gateway to the Soan Valley is 1.5 hours drive from Islamabad and 4 hours drive from Lahore. The distance can easily be covered using Lahore-Islamabad Motorway. Even though the M2 Motorway is one of the busiest motorways of Pakistan, Kallar Kahar interchange will help you enter the area without any hassles.
There are a couple of UNESCO world heritage sites nearby such as Rohtas Fort, Taxila, and Buddhist Ruins (Takht-i-Bahi). Besides, the famous Khewra Salt Mines, Soan Valley, and Katas Raj Temples are at 1-3 hours drive.
Weather of Kallar Kahar
Temperatures during both summer and winter can get quite extreme. During summers, the temperature can reach to the high of 40 degree Celsius while in the winter the temperature can drop to the lowest of 5 degree celsius. Make sure to pack accordingly.
