Insight into the Creation of Jallo Park, Lahore

Managed by the Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department, the recreational spot was established in 1978 and includes a forest research centre, a wildlife breeding center, a theme park, sports complex, restaurants and more.
Previously, the park used to be a reserve forest, providing timber and fuelwood. Currently, the park is home to more than 120 species of trees and plants. Since the park is extremely huge, like literally 461 acres huge, make sure you and your children are wearing comfortable shoes if you want to explore everything in a single visit.
Fret not if you’re not comfortable walking, you can use the shuttling facility available in the garden.

Butterfly House – The Best Feature of the Park

The butterfly house of Jallo Park is the first of its kind in Lahore. The sanctuary is home to around 3000 species of butterflies exported from all over the world.
The house is a 300 foot tunnel, serving as the most suitable place for the insects. Located inside is a butterfly laboratory which also serves its educational purpose by teaching the visitors about the wide range of species present inside the house.
The environment of the area is closely monitored, as it is extremely necessary to maintain the humidity, as butterflies cannot survive in high temperature.
Note: the timing for the butterfly house is different from that of Jallo Park.

Ticket Prices Butterfly House: The ticket for the butterfly house is only valid for 15 minutes. Don’t worry, it is enough time to see the entire tunnel, waterfalls, collection of Larvae, the rearing area, and the aquarium.

Jallo Park Ticket Prices
The entry ticket for the botanical garden is free of cost. However, you need to pay for most recreational facilities in the park. The prices for the different facilities are quite economical.
Jallo Park Timings
As the park is spread over a huge area, your visit to the park will not be complete before three hours.
Timings: 06:00 AM – 05:00 AM
Note: Please remember that the butterfly house opens at 09:00 AM.
